The Ultimate Gift

I just watched the movie "The Ultimate Gift".

It got me thinking about my own life. As well as, how it relates to our own relationship with our Heavenly Father.

In the movie it is the greatest wish of the grandfather to give his grandson the "Ultimate Gift". The gifts of work, the value of money, the love of family and friends. He wanted to give him things money could not buy.
This young man only valued wealth, material things and himself. These are the same values the world keeps trying to sell to us on a daily bases.
This young man's world began to change as the the things he valued most were all taken away.

Could our Heavenly Father want to give us His "Ultimate Gift?"

We have been able to live in a country with great wealth. But "what if " all our riches and material items were all taken away, what would we have left? This happen to Job. He faced many trials and all he had was taken away.
Our times today seem so unsure. We can no longer put our trust in our retirement, house or jobs. We have all seem them slowly slip away.

In the case of the young man in our story. He faced many trials, but behind each trial was a blessing just waiting for him. Does the Lord have unseen blessings just waiting for us to discover? What must we do to see them unveiled?

Example, the young man was given a job to do. He first refused to do the job, he then did the job poorly and then it dawn on him if he did the job and did it right, he would receive "the gift."

I believe the Lord has a job for each one of us to do for Him. But, how many of us refuse His job or do the job He has given to us poorly.

What an awesome world we would live in if each Christian was doing the job that God placed before him and did it to the best of his ability. It is often said that 20 percent of the people, do 80 percent of the work in any given church. But if 100 percent of the people were giving a 110 percent of themselves to serve the Lord. Talk about blessings being poured out, like a rain shower falling from heaven.

I think God is asking each one us this question, "What do you value?"
Where you place your time and money will tell you what you value most.

Remember, He wants to give you His "Ultimate Gift".
